Current UTC time — compare with London time

UTC is the reference for comparing times worldwide. London uses GMT (UTC+0) in winter and British Summer Time (UTC+1) in summer. Check both clocks below or convert a dated UTC time.

Convert another UTC time to London time

Choose a UTC date and time. London’s date and GMT/BST offset are calculated for that instant; this result is separate from the current clocks above.

London uses GMT or BST depending on the date

London is the reference capital for this English-language guide. Its Europe/London zone currently uses UTC+00:00 in winter and UTC+01:00 during British Summer Time. UTC itself does not change with the seasons.

Choose the actual date instead of adding a fixed hour year-round. The clocks and converter calculate London’s local date, time and offset using the date-specific time-zone rules. Historical dates can follow different rules.

Choose a UTC date and time to see the London time

  1. Choose a UTC date and time in the converter on this page. Select Back to now to return it to the current moment.
  2. Check the London date and UTC offset. The result’s app link continues the same instant in a temporary UTC/London comparison; opening it does not save a profile.
  3. For seconds, milliseconds or copied records, open Tools → UTC time converter in Time. Date & time is explicitly UTC, with Now UTC and hour controls for quick adjustments.
  4. Choose Paste timestamp for ISO or Unix records. ISO requires Z or an offset; Unix units can be Auto, seconds or milliseconds.

Winter, summer and midnight examples

2026-01-15 18:00 UTC is 18:00 in London on 15 January (GMT, UTC+00:00). On 2026-07-15, 18:00 UTC is 19:00 in London (BST, UTC+01:00).

2026-07-15 23:30 UTC is 00:30 in London on 16 July. The same 23:30 UTC on 15 January remains 23:30 on 15 January in London. Check the date as well as the clock.

Keep UTC visible or compare other places

In Time, the small UTC +00:00 option below own-zone search sets the profile reference to UTC; Undo can restore the previous zone. A favorite’s Use UTC text action changes its zone draft while keeping its name, photo and group, and Save commits it.

Use Europe/London for London’s dated time rather than a permanent numeric offset. In the app you can choose other cities as separate time zones. Conversion and temporary exploration do not save records or trigger Google synchronization.
