TIME ZONE BASICS · UTC / KST

UTC to Korea time. Keep the date in view.

Convert UTC to Korea Standard Time, understand UTC+9, and check when a timestamp crosses into the next day.

Starts with an example date. Choose your date; preview in the app before saving.

Korea Standard Time is UTC+9.

To convert UTC to current Korea Standard Time, add nine hours. To convert KST to UTC, subtract nine hours. Seoul does not currently observe daylight saving.

Adding nine hours can move the result to the next date. UTC 18:00 is 03:00 in Seoul on the following day. The interactive comparison displays both dates.

Convert an hour or an exact timestamp.

  1. For an hour comparison, choose the UTC date and use the slider above.
  2. For an exact timestamp, open the UTC & timestamps tool in Time.
  3. Use an ISO value with Z or an explicit offset, or a Unix integer timestamp.
  4. Read the converted result in the target time zone; apply it to the ring only when you want to explore that instant.

Two useful examples

2026-10-02T00:00:00Z is 09:00 on 2 October 2026 in Seoul.

2026-10-02T18:00:00Z is 03:00 on 3 October 2026 in Seoul. The Z marks UTC; the local calendar date can be different.

UTC offsets and city time zones are different.

UTC+9 describes an offset. Asia/Seoul identifies a city time zone whose historical rules are handled by the time-zone database. Use city zones when comparing locations across dates.

The converter’s Unix-number handling uses seconds for integers with ten or fewer digits and milliseconds for longer integers. See the timestamp guide for the exact accepted formats.
